Toward the machine

A new reality coming even more closer.

A world where we become even more dependent on the machine? Could this be changing the way we think, and do things as professionals? And more than that, what of this could be affecting us in our personal lives. Definitely, something that afraid all of us, but the truth is that certainly is already happening. And many people can’t realize this.

Acting like puppets of society. Or just a matter of adaptation. These are the two sides of the coin that are important to consider. Every path is full of challenges, and more than that, many times we could face full structures as barriers in front of us. Breaking into ‘’what is what’’, and the ‘’why’’ of this is definitely something important.

As technology rises

If you think about how technology changed throughout many years, and how this affects society as the whole thing. It is quite impressive how everything alters because of this. As it raises, everything becomes easier but at the same time got a ‘’zombified’’ effect of how you should do things. This means that we could be sleeping on so many aspects and this is really bad. Technology can’t substitute the human feature of our activities. It could influence, but in general, becoming more machine than human is not a good idea. It is always important to dig through the principles of what something really is about.

I got to learn a lot analyzing the main subjects of art, and software engineering as well. Both, different but related to the point that human creates tools to develop things faster. But at the same time, back to the fundamentals is always more logical to approach things that in some way are already there but are not working as you wish or want to.

There are tools for many different areas today, that definitely accelerated the process, but considering you as a person. Your brain is always the best tool.

Every skill ends up relating to another skill. So there are not just computers in front of you. There is a whole world around. There are things from the past to read as well. I always heard that ‘’to be original is to qualify yourself with sources that are not that so used in society’’. This means that is a need to do things that no one did yet. Let your creativity flows and just be yourself.

Some good examples of this (at least on what I have tried) are 3D, drawing, movies, and living life as well. In the art fields, everything is connected in some way. I still had some friends from programming that says that the languages they use are already too advanced, and understanding the base source of this makes you more unique. I will not approach this too much because it is not what I usually study, but here is a tip.

At first, I got into the word ‘’life’’ too. And this is because life could definitely change the way we see and solve things in the world. So paying attention to everything around you, even the more simple things will make you a better person and professional for sure.

A cyberpunk approach

Okay, now describing from some movie’s perspective. Science fiction in a more specific way. With a passion to see how things work in the future. Altered Carbon, and other titles like Blade runner 2049, and the classic as well. What was left from these franchises?

The dystopic reality of the future. A cyberpunk approach. Is this could be even closer than we think about it? It is really interesting to analyze the daily life of each character in a sci-fi movie. What is happening around? Try to compare with what is going on nowadays. Capture the essence of what turned into this. Where humanity got wrong by the way.

Being Takeshi Kovacs, Deckard, or whatever one that is into some crazy universe like that. Sometimes it seems really of a hard life for all of them, and they usually have so many abilities. But, disconsidering these facts, they have to adapt themselves to their own realities, and sometimes when you try to put yourself into that, you got to feel about what is going on. Many times scary, but with a great message behind it. ‘’We are humans, not machines’’.
